Segesta is one of the most evocative archaeological sites in Sicily, with its stunning temple built on a hilltop, dating back to the period between 430 and 420 b.C.
Its Doric Temple and Theater are of rare beauty.
The theater is one of the most beautiful “classical theaters”: it can be set between the Greek and Roman architectural styles and it is periodically used for theatrical performances and concerts. A shuttle service is available for visitors.
The temple was built in the Doric style, as an imitation of the majestic Greek temples and, occupying a whole hill, it is clearly visible from afar. It can be reached after a short walk.
