The picturesque sea village of Scopello and the Zingaro Nature Reserve are the most charming places of the gulf of Castellammare. The Tonnara(tunny-fishing factory) was built in the late 18th century; it is located in the lower part of the area, more precisely in the splendid bay facing the stacks, and protected by old watchtowers. It has been known from time immemorial, with its “baglio (typical building)” and its warehouses, and it was active until 1981.
Here visitors can enjoy wonderful clear waters. The stacks rise above crystal-clear waters, marking the landscape. The coves in the coast are ideal for lovers of scuba diving. The Bay of Guidaloca should also not be missed: a cosy and charming beach ideal also for families.
